Harare – Having suffered numerous injuries that prevented him from making a mark in Worcester Warriors colours, Zimbabwe Sables prop Farai Mudariki’s career has received a second wind after he was snapped by Union Sportive Olympique Nivernaise, a French second tier rugby side, as a medical joker.
The 26–year-old prop left Worcester Warriors last November after the English rugby side decided not to renew his contract due to the numerous injuries that prevented him from developing.
He only featured for the English side on three occasions during his two year stay at the club.
The Zimbabwe international is not new to French rugby, having had a dance at the Castres Olympique training center for two years before playing in Tarbes in Federal 1 (2017-2018). He then moved to England where he joined Worcester Warriors.
But with the Pro-D2 French side having already secured reinforcements for the end of the 2020-21 season, Mudariki is expected to be on the sidelines for a few weeks as he gets match fitness having last played an active match last November.
Depending on his performances, Mudariki could have his contract extended.
